Faux wood fireplace

Last week, we had the opportunity to work for a brand new client in Stilwell, KS. She had a fireplace and open bookshelves in her living room that she had a carpenter put doors on.  I love the idea of giving herself more storage.  The new doors were a pressed wood.  Her fireplace mantle was MDF.

She asked us to faux the new doors and frame to make it look like faux wood.

Erin primed the whole thing, painted it an orangish-brown understone and stained over it.

Looks just like stained cabinetry to me!

Nice before and after shots. The stained wood look sure makes a huge positive difference in that room!

Mmmm...orange-ish brown. That sounds pretty technical!

I have my 'frankenshelves' made from RTA furniture. STILL UNPAINTED.

I should try this orange-ish brown of which you speak!

I hope to let this be one of my 2012 project completions!

thanks for the pictures...Pictures speak volumes to me. (did you notice all the !!! in my comment?)
