If you didn't make it.... I totally forgive you.
There is always next month to come buy something and redeem yourself.
My kids do need to go to college ya' know..... and I do have alot of kids (lol).
I took a slew of painted furniture over to be sold. And was half disappointed; half happy that my favorite piece didn't sell.....
I thought it was absolutely dreamy.
Especially since it started out by looking like this:
Yikes. Not pretty.
A while back I did this same finish on a side table for a client and loved, loved, loved it.
So I repeated the patchy crackle on this desk......
I stained it and stenciled it....
And added my signature gaudy crystal knobs.
And called it perfect.
Perfect for ME anyway. It's so funny what I thought would sell......didn't.
And what I thought wasn't necessarily my best work......did sell.
Just goes to show that it takes ALL kinds, ALL styles, ALL tastes to make the world go round.
Wouldn't it be a boring if we all adored only the patchy-crackled, gaudy-knobbed, harlequin-stenciled furniture pieces of the world??
To those of you who did come out to The Red Apron this weekend.....Bless you. It was so fun meeting so many new people and being supported by so many of my family, friends, neighbors and blog followers. You are the best! We were so excited about the turnout and look forward to next month.
So...mark your calendars....January 20th and 21st..... you can come see me then.
You know....to help support my kid's college funds.....
And your love of all things "patchy crackled".....

I love this desk...too bad I am in Texas and not close by to snap this treasure up!
I think this piece is awesome and it will eventually sell to the right person who will truly appreciate it.
I woulda totally bought that one ya know. Goes well with my buffet. :)
it's gorgeous! that happens to me too, things that I'm not so crazy about are the first to go and what I think I did a really good job on, takes longer LOL
I think your desk is great! People never cease to amaze me. I just posted a picture of my dining room redo on my blog and Facebook page and a friend totally slammed me. Go figure. Kinda hurt my feelings too.
