Confession: I don't decorate for Easter

I may be the only blogger out here who doesn't decorate for Easter. I love Easter. But there is such a fine line between cheesy and classy Easter decor.

I did try to gold leaf a bunny and an egg.

They are still cheesy.

And...the last time I tried to decorate in Easter fashion.... this is what I got.

Reread this post from last year. You will feel like a decorating genius. You can thank me later for boosting your self esteem.

Clearly I haven't recovered from the incident. I am still mad at that wreath.

I don't decorate for Easter, either! I'm totally with you on the "fine line" issue. I do decorate for spring, though. Spring decor can last for weeks and weeks, so it seems like a better bang for my time. I do Christmas, I do spring/summer, and I do fall. That's it. Yeah, I'm lazy like that....

Will it make you feel better or worse? The first time I saw your wreath picture, my thought was "wow, that's an interesting shape; I like that it is not the usual round wreath!" Then I got to laugh out loud at your story.

My holiday decorating consists of putting out all of the various kitschy and otherwise decorations we have been given as gifts over the years...I make up in quantity what I don't have in elegance.

I really can't stomach much "seasonal" or "holiday" decorating at all. (I know, I'll probably be shunned from the blogging community now. "She's not one of us!!!") A few things for Christmas and that's it here.

I'm really not much of a easter decorator either. In fact, the stuff I have out right now is making me cringe every time I walk by and see it. But, I only do it for the kids.
But I do love your golden bunny and egg.

I rarely decorate for Easter either..... Some of the bloggie girls do such a wonderful job, don't they? Not that I don't CELEBRATE the resurrection, mind you...

Warm blessings,

I don't decorate for anything but Christmas, to be honest, and a pumpkin at Halloween (plus about 5 minutes worth of whatever else I can put out just before the trick-or-treaters show up.) I've always wanted to know where people store all of their pretty decorations. I can hardly fit the 2 or 3 boxes of Christmas stuff that I have! I bet I will do more when I have kids, but for now, I just enjoy the decorating of others. :)

I've never really decorated either until I started blogging. Funny, huh? Anyway, I love your gold leafed bunny and egg....very pretty! Thanks for sharing! ~Liz

I did not decorate this year either. I really just forgot. I am hoping that it means Easter is really just about the meaning of the day for us. Not that I need gingko.

I don't really decorate for any holiday except for Christmas. I can however appreciate other's decorations. I don't know what the last image was by far..lol. But I do love what you did with the bunny :) Heck I always love what you do with things!

I got in spurts....some years full out...other's not so much! I have a handful of bunnies out but it's not a lot. My house is small and I'm limited in storage. I can't imagine where some bloggers store ALL their stuff! Off-site???
I don't think the gold bunny is cheezy..and you did a fabulous job on him. And thanks again for the reminded of you funny wreath last year. hehehehe...too cute. That's what we're here for...to have fun and laugh at ourselves. :)

I don't decorate for Easter or any holiday other than fall and Christmas. I just can't get into changing all that stuff all the time. I am glad to know I am not alone.

I've always loved Easter and decorated too ~ the classy, elegant look. :-) My mother passed away at Easter time in 2003 and I haven't felt the same since so no, I'm not decorating either.

Thanks for sharing! Hilarious for sure ~

Haha. i haven't even read your post from last year yet but I feel so much better for not decorating for Easter. For one, I feel like Lent isn't the time of celebration... Easter is. Easter decor in my mind seems kind of inappropriate before Easter Sunday. That said, I really have aversion to Easter decorations after Easter. That and the fact that, like you said, most are all too cheesy. Loved your post. Wow did I miss being on my computer this week. So glad to be back. I think I may be addicted. :)

you're not the only one girl! All I have is a Southern Living basket that has flowers and some springy type pics in them...I use it every year. But like I said, it's more spring than Easter. I think that by the time Spring comes around folks are tired of decorating and want to get outside! I really only decorate for Christmas, and even that gets old! So, don't feel bad.

It's kind of funny to read all the comments about decorating or not for Easter or any other holiday. I thought I would be in the minority in the comments. Apparently I am not the only one who feels this way...I do however think the line is much wider between classy and trashy. All the typical rainbow of colors for Easter and then all the green and leprechaun. Just goofy, not pretty or creative. Kitschy.
By the way, love your bunny and egg. Warm, fits with your style and home. Not kitschy. Fabulous.
